Additional Information:

The club started in May 2006 and since that time we have grown both in items made and membership. Our main interest is to make items for those that are less fortunate, sick or a baby that might never have something new.

Everyone seems to have a specialty, and they are willing to share that expertise, whether it will be a new hat pattern or a new way to work the various looms. Just to come and have nice conversation with likeminded residents.

We charge no dues, provide the yarn, patterns and needles if need be. In order to provide the free yarn, we depend on donations of yarn and money, or we raise the money by having a Bake Sale in the fall at our Annual Craft Fair or Karaoke Night in January.

We welcome new members anytime. Although we are geared to mostly Water Oak Residents, we will gladly accept those that live elsewhere, which we do have a few.

We have helped our military with helmet liners, our Vets in Honor Flight and the homeless in the Ocala Forest. Also babies and children both locally and in hospitals in Orlando as well as the elderly in rehabs or in nursing facilities. We love every minute of it!
